What are your summer mod plans???

most of you have these big plans... mine are window tinting, stereo system (Got the HU getting the sub(s) and amp tuesday or wednesday in chicago) and thats about all I'm doing really.... I like the ride height it is at, rims are fine with me, paint the hood thats like a 1 day thing do it in friends paint booth and then new foglights, wala I'm done for good, might sell the car afterwards.... we will see how it treats me

Finish the bastard Turbo!!!!!! should be this weekend or next weekend I should be done.

 

 

Install the struts i have had forever, and find some lowering springs, and buy the rear leaf i group ordered :oops:

 

Get a lap top, and tap into my computer for some tuning

 

Any other touch-ups needed to get the turbo install working and looking great.

If a MOD is a mechanical repair that deviates the car's appearance and/or operation from the norm...

 

I'm fixing the oil pump drive shaft seal.

 

Non mechanical will be ... refinishing my international rims.

I think thats it. Probably paint it within the next year or two.

 

if/when you decide to paint her, I know a guy that owns a shop on the NE side of Columbus that does excellent work.........

Hopefully...that is if I get my Duster done...otherwise almost none of this will happen:

 

Install HUD (already own)

Lip Spoiler/Lip Spoiler Tail Lights (need to buy)

Color Key reverse light panel (seems easy enough)

Degrease Engine Bay (will do for sure)

Dual Exaust Swap/Modify Rear Bumper, will use used factory stainless piping to the mufflers, not sure of mufflers yet

Replace factory crappy ass foglamps

'96-up Front Spindles/FE3 Springs up front, FE3 leaf in the back (this is somewhat unlikely to get done)

3400 Top end swap, ported manifolds (and polished outside)- very unlikely as of now

 

Anyway, if you have parts i need, LET ME KNOW!!!!

-Drop in the 3.1/tranny combo early

-Gather all 5 speed parts

-leather

-black interior (Recovering all tyhe stock pieces in black)

-tires

-finish "Project: Digitalization"

-Paint

-add all the body parts amast over the months

-custom stereo

-custom head lights

-dual exhaust

-Power mirrors

-RKE (OR a killer Viper security via my Best Buy discount)

-Buy my 3100 top end from John

-Gather turbo stuff

-create a Cutty-Style digital boost gauge (THIS will be cool)

-Capacitive touch controls

-HVAC work

-KYB GR-2 strut addition (Theyre sittin here, right now..)

-Z34 swaybar (Chris has it en route)

-Intrax/ST springs (Or Euro/Z34 ones.. Need something stiff and cheap)

-Get my turn signal lenses from Don..

 

All this is hinging on me getting all my legal troubles out of the way.. I owe 850 from the accident in November, and when that's out of the way, get the new car rockin

Hmmm... as long as I get the job I'm hoping for....

 

-Have sheetmetal work done on rust hole, filled, primed, sanded...

 

-Get that area, roof and trunklid repainted (know a pro bodyshop that knows someone... it's complicated, but it will be cheap.

 

-fix some small scratches on front of hood, maybe shave the olds emblem off the front (all the other badges are shaved)

 

-Re clearcoat my crosslace rims (peeling)

 

-Finish rear brake work (finish painting my calipers red)

 

-Detail and paint the Quad 4 engine, clean out the bay very well

 

-maybe replace the dashpad (Kinda warping wround exhaust vent, noticed it the other day

 

-replace headliner

 

-look into new rims and tires, prolly won't buy until later, though...

 

- oh, and FIX THE DAMN KEYLESS ENTRY...

Hmmm....

 

Sand down any rust underneath, and paint the underbody with that rubberized paint

Get the AC working again

New struts

New chrome exhaust tips

Possible UB3 installtion (depends if i can find one w/ 131k)

find a Gxp that got rear ended in a salavage yard, pull motor 5.3 with all the wires and control units! then find a G6 6speed tranny & mate them together into a 1990 ste! the G6 6speed is a 3.55 fr ratio :shock: i think that would be cool !

Well this is all happens if and when I get a job:

 

Maintenence:

 

Figure out why its having starting problems, and then eventually get back down to Mishawaka and have Ben tune it and get the cam timing done.

 

Hopefully ready for the W-body meet! :twisted:

mods will probably be light again this year. Might be getting the wife either a new Equinox or Trailblazer. But I want to paint my brake calipers, might get the GMPP handling kit, I'm gonna have to get new tires (that will probably be next spring) and probably be doing bodywork on the '94 Dodge Caravan (wife's current car) for I will be using this as my winter beater.

build up a L67 and 4t65e through the winter and install before summer next year.

 

why not a regular 3800 with the new stroker kit ZZP's got out
