They Made a Pearl Yellow 2000 Intrigue (also scrapped have pics of it in salvage yard) with a Ram Air hood and side pipes with Ghost Olds rockets in the paint as well but I cant find pics of it anywhere other than behind the Polar Bear Car in that one Picture When I get pics Ill put it up. The car had a sweet ram air hood and functional side pipes.

There was of course a PPG Metallic Orange and Pearl White 2000 IRL Intrigue Pace Car (scapped... doors sitting at Schram's) Made which I am also having a hard time locating pictures for (I know I have pics at home though)

And last but not least next post where the car started from:

1995 Antares Concept

The Winner of the best concept of show at the North American AInternational Auto Show in 1995.

Artist Rendering:

antares.jpg

Taking its styling cues from the then recently introduced Aurora, the Antares sedan was said to forshadow the 1997 Cutlass Supreme(which was renamed Intrigue, and delayed to 1998). Antares was the first Oldsmobile to wear the new Oldsmobile logo. It was 17 inches shorter than an Aurora, but rode on nearly the same 113.5-inch wheelbase. That allowed full size room in a mid-size package. Inside, designers used brushed metal for controls, switches and dash faceplates. A feature Olds had hoped to retain into production. Auto Week awarded Antares with "Best Concept Car" at the Detroit show.

Finally relased as the Intrigue in 1998, released early because the motor was not ready for the car so they used a 3800 Series II engine in place of the Shartstar v6 which came as an option in 1999 in 2000 was standard power plant, Car was killed in 2002 because GM lost money on every Intrigue ever produced..They honestly built them too well.

There you can find a great video on the last one that went through the plant at Fairfax Plant in Kansas.

Double Click the year 2000 and click on INTRIGUE Video.

Now that is truely a shame. With that engine and a 6 speed manual, I'd have driven that car in a heartbeat...had it been sold. Too bad GM's just finally starting to get the hint that we want other "performance" oriented vehicles available with a manual transmission that aren't a corvette.

Was was this car scrapped, and not kept at a GM museum somewhere?!?

That is bullshit. I bet there are a lot of people out there that would have paid really good money to save that thing from the crusher, even if it just were going to sit in a museum.

I wish I could have saved them all, I would sign a contract not to drive them if I could keep them. I got as much as I could from them before they were destroyed.

Things from those cars I have.

1. 2001 Olds SC3 Intrigue (entire car)

2. Polar Bear Altaire wheels and tires

3. OSV Intrigue Wheels and tires

4. Intrigue Pace car wheels and Tires

5. Final 500 Seats emblems sill badges and center caps

6. OSV logos from side of OSV Intrigues

7. Rocket wheels off SC3 Aurora (currently on my SC3 Intrigue)

8. Brembo brakes off OSV Intrigue

9. Book created to build SC3 cars with CAD drawings and Online confidential documents stating prices, and completion dates

10. Book on OSV Oldsmobiles

11. Almost every set of wheels removed from these cars have gone through my hands or I still own them.

that's all I can think of off hand.

I'm not a fan of the Intrigues whatsoever, but that red one is fucking hot, and it realy pisses me off that it ended it's life in a crusher like some POS iron duke Lumina.

There's just something really depressing about that..

The coolest thing about that car was its goregous paint job it had ghost Olds Rocket logos like this

O163-lg.jpg

All over the body in various sizes that appeared only a certain angle, it was awesome looking.

I'd rather have the new Monte SS ... and thats from an Olds guy who is on his 4th Cutlass Supreme.

I have never been interested in the Intrigue. I even find the car name ironic since I think it looks more like a Pontiac than an Olds.

No wonder they killed Olds.
