Fuel Pressure Regulator?

I have a 91 Grand Prix, with a 3.1 and it's been hard starting lately. It wouldn't catch and then puff black smoke and idle rough after about three long tries. When I investigated under the hood I found that a fuel vapor tube that runs directly from the fuel rail and feeds into the top of the throttle body was pouring gas into the engine. I'm guessing that the Fuel Pressure Regulator valve is probably stuck open and the high pressure is what's causing the gas to be running through the vacum tubes. My gas mileage has also dropped about 5mpg! Has anyone had this problem? I'm planning on a new regulator, but didn't know if there were any other ideas on what it could be. thanks!

I just replaced mine last week!!!!

Same shit too , hard start ( I actually thought I had a leaky injector).

The regulator t's off. 1 of the lines goes the the left most vacume spot on the throttlebody if you are looking under the hood on the drivers side. I finally figured it out cause my intake boot had a puddle of gass in ti and it stunk. So then after looking at it more carfeully, realized that had to be the problem. I verified it by running the car for a moment, then turn the car off.The fuel system should be pressurized, then I unplugged that line and out it came...dribble-dribble dribble.......

I called a local auto store place, they wanted $116 freggin dollars!!!!!

I went to the j/y, snagged one off a 3.1 (FREE)!!!! went home and a couple hours later I was rollin. Fairly easy to do... don't be intimidated
