Movies and TV shows w/ w-body's

Name all the TV shows and movies that you have seen that have w-body's in them. 1. (TV) In the heat of the night (Buick Regal cp) 2. (Movie) Serial Mom (Chevrolet Lumina) 3. (Movie) Josh and Sam (Pontiac Grand Prix cp)
  2. After sifting through 20+ pages of search results, I thought we could all post any production numbers we have in one spot, to make future searching easier (especially since there aren't too many websites that have this information). I DON'T HAVE ALL THE NUMBERS! This is a collaborative thing; everyone just post the info that they have here for everyone else to see! So, here's what I've got: Total 1995 Grand Prix: 131,835 Total Grand Prix Coupes: 58,896 Total Coupes with B4S GTP Package: 9,256 Total Coupes in 41U Black: 8,230 And from this info, my *ESTIMATE* of black '95 GTPs: 1,288. To get numbers on your car: Grand Prix: cac@pontiac.com Regal: http://www.buick.com/contact/email/ Lumina/Monte: http://www.chevrolet.com/contactus/emailus/index.jsp Cutlass: http://www.oldsmobile.com/olds/contactus/cont_Email.html Make sure you have your VIN handy.
  3. Hi everyone. I have a fixture for rebuilding the 1989/1990 Turbo Grand Prix, TSTE exhaust crossover (x-over) pipes. The original crossovers have bellow style flex joints that cracks and leaks, causing a rich running condition. All rebuilt ones come with a woven style flex joint that is the industry standard nowadays. Also, the original is encased with a molded steel heatshield that trapped moisture against the crossover, accelerating corrosion. Once rebuilt, the heat shield is no longer utilized, with no ill effects. $375 USD shipped anywhere in North America without core return. $300 USD shipped anywhere in North America with core return. (Effectively a $75 core charge - I'd prefer to receive your rebuildable core rather than charge the $75) I have had lots of seamless transactions with members on this board and tgpforums.com, so have no worries. All shipments will include a tracking number. PayPal and money orders are my preferred methods of payment. Any questions, concerns or comments please feel free to PM me or email me at mshantz83@hotmail.com Matt

    W-body Install Guides

Since it seems that we do have people that are unsure on how to access speakers, or take apart they're dashes, I figured I would go ahead and upload these. These are the only one's that I currently have. If I am missing some, either they are not available, or I totally forgot about that certain vehicle; Just let me know, and I'll let you know . If a guide is not available, and someone would like to make a nice write up, like the ones in the link, PM me the write up, and I will add it to this. Also, these are currently loaded onto Putfile, which has a 30 day experation, meaning 30 days from the last download, they delete the file off of the system. So... If someone that has a server would be kind enough to download all of these, then upload them to their own and PM me the links, I will glady update this thread. Hopefully this can be added to the FAQ or made a sticky. 88-94 Cutlass http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/Cutlass88-93.pdf 95-97 Cutlass No available guide 88-91 Grand Prix http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/GrandPrix88-01.pdf 92-93 Grand Prix http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/GrandPrix92-93.pdf 94-96 Grand Prix http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/GrandPrix94-96.pdf 97-99 Grand Prix http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/GrandPrix97-99.pdf 00-03 Grand Prix http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/GrandPrix00-03.pdf 00-05 Impala http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/Impala00-05.pdf 98-03 Intrigue http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/Intrigue93-03.pdf 90-94 Lumina http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/Lumina90-93.pdf 95-99 Lumina/Monte Carlo http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/MonteCarlo95-99.pdf 88-93 Regal http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/Regal88-93.pdf 94-96 Regal http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/Regal94-96.pdf 97-00 Regal http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/Regal97-00.pdf 95-99 Riviera http://radio.digitaloutsider.org/wbodydb/tutorials/audioinstall/Riviera95-99.pdf
  5. Would anyone happen to have a set of 2nd gen Grand Prix tail lights they are willing to part with? I haven't found any decent ones at the junkyards. After market or factory does not matter so long as they don't have any cracks.

    95 LQ1 MAP sensor?

Hey all, New to forum and not 100% sure how this "Posting" business works, but here goes. Does anybody know why my 95 LQ1 GP does not have a MAP sensor? May sound like a total noob question but I've seen several images of an LQ1 intake diagram and they all show MAP.

    Hello all

Always been a fan of the w-body, Grand Prix GTP mainly. Currently I do not own one but that dont stop me from looking. ASE "Equipment Tech" for MoDOT, fancy word for dumbass mechanic that works for the state LOL.
  9. So this door handle chromer in the Citation X-11 group on Facebook (not much further explanation needed really...) is telling me that there were 12 TGPs actually sold in Canada and they were available through 1991 instead of the GTP. Mind you, this is the same guy that says the THM-125 3 speed used in the Grand Prix was fully electronic. Also, the Corsica came with 5x115 hubs in front and 5x100 hubs in the rear. We got to talking TGPs because he bought the drivetrain from one. He lives in Canada. It's so funny that I had to share. Total door handle chromer - a person that thinks they know everything when in reality doesn't know half as much as they think they do.

    More Trans research

http://www.transtar1.com/ I have been cruising Google and I found this site put in the search perimeters. 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1L and it comes up with a list that has the Mclaren referenced. So when I get home I will email this place to find out more.
  11. Must Sell Price reduced to 5500.00 OBO. Selling for what I have in it. Hi all. I am listing this to see if there is any interest. It's a 1991 Grand Prix GTP with 5 speed manual transmission. 66 Thousand miles. Blue with gray cloth interior. Sun roof, HUD, Power windows and Locks. I am in Pa. I will post pictures as soon as I can.
  12. Been looking for a new old stock coolant reservoir for a good while now, and I am unable to find one. I can find new tanks for older cars and newer ones, but none for mine. Been searching Ebay for weeks now with no luck. I would rather have a new one, but I will buy a used one just as long as there is a good view of the coolant level. The GM part number for the tank is 10239079. That part number fits Regal 91 through 93(3.1 only not sure), Cutlass Supreme 91 through 93, Pontiac Grand Prix 91 through 93, and Chevrolet Lumina 91 through 93. If you have a used one that is in good shape, or know where I could get a new one, then please let me know. Thanks

  15. hey guys, my 04 grand prix started to sway a few weeks ago around 80-100kmh my tires had some play so i changed bearings ball joints tierods and sway links and even bought a new set of tires, im one of those guys with the infamous abs traction control messed up as well so im starting to think maybe now i got everything new and tightened up that im feeling the sway because traction control is off? or am i maybe due for some struts? they seem ok they dont klunk when i hit bumps and they release to original position quickly when i push down on the car, any ideas?
  16. I'm not excited about it, but the automatic road to riches upon getting my degree is taking its time... so I'm parting with the TGP. Trying to put feelers out there, let me know if you or any of your car buddies are interested: 1990 Pontiac ASC Mclaren Turbo Grand Prix 118k miles only 3700 made $3000 obo -needs master cylinder

    Torque specs, specif. 4T60

Hey guys, I found it long go, can't find it again. I'm looking for the torque specs for the transmission oil pan bolts for a '95 3.1 paired with a 4T60 in my Grand Prix. If there's some comprehensive resource with all of the torque specs for this combo, even better as I will likely need it in the future. The gasket has leaked since I got it a few years back and I'm finally tired of the driveway mess. I figured I'd replace the filter while I'm at it, it is as simple as drain pan, remove old filter, replace with new? Anything I need to look out for? TIA
  20. Hi everyone. I want to say thank you to all of you who have helped me directly and indirectly over the years with keeping my vehicles on the road. The reason for this thread is that I almost lost my family in an accident yesterday. Someone decided to blow through a stop sign and T-bone my car with 4 passengers and myself in it. We were all shaken up but my sister-in-law got the full brunt of the pickup. I tried to pound the gas to avoid him (Red Explorer) but it was too late. She was released from the hospital last night with no broken bones or internal injuries other than taking a 4000lb-plus-line-backer to the side. My girlfriend was in the front passenger seat is a bit beat up and her daughter was in the rear sitting on the hump with my cousin sitting behind me. I was doing 45kph down an incline and he was doing 20-30kph accelerating into me and the impact spun me 180* through the intersection. I may shit on GM products but I have to say that if it wasn't for the stance, fat arse and beefy build of this car (apparently there was a rollover last year with the same intersection in the same fashion). Things would be much worse. Take care everyone and thanks for everything. I am happy that I have family alive and well on both sides of the monitor. =) Cheers -Steve
  21. So these came on my car when I bought it and as luck might have it, my Dad decided to buy some new ones for my mom's GP, so I am getting her stock set. The tail lights are on the car and are in great shape, I am asking $90 plus shipping and paypal fees, I will have mine off this week, or this weekend. I am firm on the price as they are in great shape. They are these ones. http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-03-Pontiac-Grand-Prix-Carbon-Tail-Lights-Brake-Lamps-/281644927374?hash=item419358898e&vxp=mtr I will get pictures up by tonight.

    LQ1 drag car?

Hello all, I recently lost my L67 drag car, it decided to implode at 7000 rpm. Before you ask me what I was thinking, it was fully balanced and had an SFI balancer on it... anyways it is toast. I found a straight, low mile grand prix with an LQ1. I was going to pick it up do as much weight reduction as I can and use it as a bracket racing car, 13.xx times would be cool, but the point is for it to be reliable and consistent. I guess my question is, am I crazy for wanting to do this? Will the LQ1 put up with the constant abuse if I keep up on maintenance?? With weight reduction, (all interior, and everything else I dont need) will the transmission hold up (automatic)? What are your thoughts?

    Are these good speakers?

I pulled a few sets of speakers out of the Grand Prix I'm parting out. There is a pair of 6x9 Kickers, 4x6 Alpines, and 4x6 Pioneers. Picture with part numbers/ specs are below. I couldn't find much online about them; probably because they're older models. Would these be decent upgrades to the stock speakers in my Monte Carlo? I'd also let em go for cheap if someone wants to buy them as I can't imagine they're worth much. Also pulled this steering wheel control interface that I can't out anything about either. Anyone know anything about it or have any use for it?
  25. Hello everyone, I am having a very small coolant leak from the bypass pipe that runs from under the throttle body to the top of the water pump housing. It is leaking from the connection where the heat hose assembly connects to it just above the water pump housing. I have had to replace the gasket that connects this pipe to the water pump housing before and it was no issue. I was wondering if anyone has any information of where I can find this pipe. I have look all over, and have been unsuccessful. Its for a 89 Grand Prix with the 2.8L.
