Does the pump run? If it does, unhook a fuel line under the hood and jump the fuel pump relay.

What's the easiest way to drain a full tank from the 95 Regal? Can I just get a tube in from the gas cap or is there anti siphoning? Would like to get as much out as possible without lifting or getting under the car. Thanks.

Hi guys, I'm still alive and well and still have dome light switches! The site used to send me an email when someone posted on this thread, not sure if that doesn't work anymore? My direct email is mezz@benris.com if anyone else is still looking or switches.

Bounces when driving slow.
garrenhart replied to Q-Ball's topic in Brakes/Suspension/Steering/Wheels/Tires
That low-speed bouncing can be tricky to diagnose since most suspension setups react differently at slower speeds. Sometimes, even after new shocks, tires, and alignment, small imperfections in the suspension bushings or worn mounts can create that “bouncy” feeling at 15–20 MPH while disappearing at higher speeds. Checking for uneven tire wear or slightly loose components can help pinpoint it. For anyone learning to manage these subtleties while driving, places like Scuola Guida Keller in Locarno and Bellinzona offer practical guidance on handling vehicles safely under all conditions, which can make noticing and correcting these issues much easier. Routine inspection by a trusted mechanic focusing on suspension links and mounts often resolves the problem, rather than repeatedly swapping tires or shocks. -

I think I found what I needed to online. I believe that the speaker mounts will fit in my doors. I have seen some conflicting posts on this site about whether the coupe doors are pre-wired for speakers. Does anyone know for sure?

96 wheel bearing/hub
Black92GS replied to Andrew T's topic in Brakes/Suspension/Steering/Wheels/Tires
That sounds about right. The SL was the top tier cutlass trim in 1996, but GM being GM....you could spec up a base model to be more loaded than the top trim level, or you could delete enough from an upper level trim to make it less equipped than a base. In some cases, features exist on some vehicles that don't even show as being available for that make/model/trim/year combo. I think it got slightly better as the years progressed....but it still exists to some extent today. -

Interesting. Oldsmobile always had some unique ways of going about option combinations and designations. Thank you ps The ABS light has gone out but did come back on. A scan and physical check at the shop comes up everything is ok. Has been some very low temps and a recent snow storm where I am, for now I'm going hold off on any replacement as it may be just weather related. -

I think in 1996 it was just Base and SL on the Cutlass Supreme. But admittedly I'm no expert on that. Cutlass trim was odd there were higher tier ones that were oddly stripped and base ones that were oddly loaded. Generally speaking it meant leather, sunroof, dual zone electronic climate control, and variable assist power steering. Sometimes you'd get the 3.4 DOHC v6. Someone else will correct me, I'm sure. -

Yes, pardon. So there was a base and SL level trim, or was anything above base a SL? Sorry for the added questions, just trying to learn more about the car. -

You mean SL? It's just a trim level. -

not even a difference ABS/non abs on the gen1 front knuckles. the sensor is separate of the wheel hub - why gm couldn't have continued this into the later cars is beyond me. buy whichever brand you determine to be the highest quality or fits within your budget -

55trucker replied to Andrew T's topic in Brakes/Suspension/Steering/Wheels/Tires
No difference to be had..... for the part # go to Rockauto.......search your vehicle, the hubs are a generalized item, there is no specific item for a premium vs basic car series, just ABS vs no ABS -

Looking to replace the the front (driver side I believe) wheel bearing/hub on my 1996 Cutlass 2 door base model. It appears there is a SL also but that the part is the same across the line. Can someone provide a part number and advise as to the SL difference, if any? Thanks

Welcome. -
So my hunt begins for an intrigue with the 3.5, I'm looking specifically for a GL or GLS with the 3.29 gear ratio. Anyone know the RPO code for that to help me in my searches? Google and rpocode.com aren't helping me

Hey everyone, My name’s Ryan, I’m from Long Island, NY, and I’m new to the Monte Carlo platform. I recently picked up a 2003 Monte Carlo SS and I’m excited to finally start a build thread and be part of the community. By trade I’m a licensed marine engineer, so I’m very hands-on mechanically and enjoy learning the technical side of things. On the automotive side, I’ve worked on and tuned a variety of platforms, everything from basic bolt-ons and wiring to full tuning using HP Tuners, Hondata, and standalone setups. I enjoy both the mechanical and tuning sides of builds and documenting the process. For the Monte, the plan is to start simple, catch up on maintenance, fix worn components, and do some basic bolt-ons while I sort out the body and cosmetics. Once the chassis and body are in better shape, the goal is to turn things up. I’m currently torn between a Gen V M90 top swap or going turbo, but either way the end goal is a "reliable", fun street car that still rips when you get into it. I’ll be sharing progress, asking questions, and learning as I go. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s builds and being part of the community.
