I'm concerned/confused about this, why can I only test 42 different variables, when the AutoXray manual shows over 100+ for GM OBD-I??

Is there any books or websites that you recommend for more information on what various readings SHOULD be? In other words, lets say my "Injector Pulse" is "10.3 mS", what the heck does that mean to me?? What good is the information, if I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it? Any recommendations are truly apprecaited!:)

THANKS!

I ordered it from http://www.autotestsys.com

They only charge $149.99, plus, you get a FREE Carrying Case, as well as FREE Shipping in the US!!

The EXACT link is:

http://www.autotestsys.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=ATS&Category_Code=AX

For OBD-I, you need the model number 10110.

Also, go to http://www.autoxray.com for the company site.

Well..

On those parameters you listed.. mostly ECM if not all ECM.. There are a bunch of other codes not related to ECM including ABS on certain GM cars. The ABS controller alone can add dozens of additional codes.

As for the injector pulse, we're talking about a Fuel Management paramater that is continously adjusted by the ECM (hence changing) when the car is running. It does this with the help of inputs from sensors and also preset fuel logic and algorithms so it is not easy to pinpoint specific reference numbers. If you turn your air conditioner on you should see a change in the pulse as the ECM is reacting to increased power demand.

If you really want to get into the whole complex world of ECM operation and programming you can read about GM EFI at this site:

http://www.customefis.com/GMEFI.html

You'll find excellent introductory info there..

Hmm.. you sure it was 10.3ms and not 1.3ms?

Just curious.. :)
