Strange FOB/Remote lock/unlock issue.

Hello,

 

 

I have a 2000 grand prix GT coupe.

 

 

My fob is having trouble locking and unlocking the doors. Trunk button alWAYs works from the fob.

 

 

It was doing this a few weeks ago, so I changed the fob battery, resynced by holding lock and unlock buttons. Got the horn beep to confirm sync.

 

 

Now, fob lock button never works. Fob unlock button works sometimes.

 

 

If I try to resync now, I get no horn beep but trunk button still works.

 

 

If I press the lock button on the door, it auto locks the doors after a few seconds.

 

 

Would disconnecting the car battery for awhile help?

 

 

Any other ideas?

I would start with a new keyfob.

Or try cleaning the contacts on the fob you have.

X2 on the cleaning. One of the fobs for my Cutlass did that when I bought it. The button was full of pocket lint!
