Im contemplating putin some 23"x7.5" rims on my 95 cutty but in order for them to fit w/o substantial rubbing i need to lift the car about 2.5-3 inches. is that possible?

Holy crap that would look ridiculous. :gone2far: :bash:

Biggest problem you will have is it won't be good for CV angles unless you do a body lift on the subframe and extend the intermediate shaft. I suppose you could just take a gamble on the CV angles and add spring blocks or something like that into the front coils, and maybe some kind of helper leaf in the rear, but damn, it's gonna look silly like something out of a McDonald's Happy Meal.

If he wants to make his car look like complete and utter dog shit, let him. I read his cardomain and all the posts about how he blew through two transmissions. I'm sure a 4T60 would LOVE to have to get those big-ass ugly pieces of metal you call wheels moving. If you want to make your car look like ghetto trash, PLEASE buy a 70's Cutlass like all the drug dealers around here like to roll in. Don't destroy a decent W-body.

You people obviouslay arent from where im from where bigger is better (in every subject) we go up to 26" on our big body cars, 24's on coupes 28's on SUV's. We call em Slab Rollers. I dont currently have pics of my 21's but i got pics of my old 20's that i had on my cutty this past spring, they were begining to look small so i upped to the 21's with lower profile tires. our cars around here ride as high as mid size SUV's but i would be one of the first to lift a fwd car next to my buddy Oak. (22's on his 89 Cutty International) it was lifted an inch in the front. some one instruct me on how to post pics annd ill get them on here asap... better yet check out my car domain site but just keep in mind those are my old 20's i now have 21's.

First of all man i would appreciate if you watch what you say. My father owns a 79 cutlass with 24" spinning rims and he owns the local Auto Zone. Graduated from Ohio State and lives in one of the most expencive homes in the cleveland area, Far from a drug dealer. never used a controlled substance a day in his life. Niether have I

i think what a lot of the guys are saying without being so nice about it is that the car will start to tear it's self apart with a lift and 22's. Don't get me wrong i love big bodies with 22's and trucks with 26's, LOVE THEM (if done right). But the whole fact of lifting a car to put bigger rims on it is ludacris (haha luda). Your tranny won't last long, your alignment will be way off, it will ride like fuck. I'm not trying to be a dick here, just letting you know how i feel about it. Some cars were made to sit tall and i (personally) don't think FWD cuttys are in the group. RWD cars is another story, you should keep the FWD cutty on 20's or 21's and get a G body for a little lift and 24's. Keep in mind this is all my opinion. Don't mean to sound like a dick.

Hope yo decide to keep the 21's on it Either way be sure to post pics Later Jay

oh and for the rear lift if u have to check out http://www.fastfwdpersormance.com for coilovers

if u dont have anything nice to say, then dont say shit at all

you have to learn that people will not like everything you do, i've had many people bitch about things lthey don't like on my car, and i leanr to roll with it. if you ask on a public forum you need to expect it.

xtreamlumi- thanx for not bein a dick and sweet lumina. i was going to get a Z34 before i got my cutlass but it wasnt my style

justin- my buddy had his lift done by a susp. specialist that charged him $650. Im a DIY type person and i really dont want to go to a spot that charges that much for just the front and just an inch. good suggestion tho

There's a point where bigger isn't better, it's just plain ridiculous. :gone2far: Why the hell would anyone want their car to look like some weird abstract silly looking child's toy? Why the hell would anyone want to lift a CAR? :bash: Well, I know you've got your reasons and your taste. It just boggles my mind because to me, it's just nuts. I guess I just can't understand your taste. It's completely beyond my comprehension. I've seen other cars done like that, and to me it seems as weird a thing to do as if you were to have your arms and legs surgically switched around.

Hey, I'd still like to see these lifted FWD Supremes, it's the complete opposite of my taste, but it'd definitely be good shock value.

Well I'd at least take a look and see where the lift is achieved on his car, you can still DIY but it's nice to have an idea on where to start. I would assume the easiest way to lift the front would be to make some billet adapters for the upper strut mounts, kind of like those thick wheel spacers. A guy could even space down the subframe somewhat possibly with some thick washers if you think the CV axle angle is excessive.

I was just thinking... on my car, I think the lower strut bearing comes within an inch or two of the tire. You'd probably have to space the wheels out kind of far, or extend the strut tube on the front.
