Jovan_Vuksic Posted July 2, 2005 Report Share Posted July 2, 2005 I have a 1994 Grand PRix SE, with a 3.1 and automatic transmission. The transmission no longer has 1st or reverse. As in, if I put it in reverse it just revs freely and same with 1st gear. It will start using second gear start and every other gear is fine. My tranny fluid seems to be pretty dark and overfilled, could this be the problem or should i just bolt in a new tranny. Thanks in advance. slick Posted July 3, 2005 Report Share Posted July 3, 2005 If it is overfilled, could be causing the problem. How many miles are on your car? I suggest dropping the tranny pan, and letting all of that fluid drain out. While your at it, change the gasket and filter. Then, refill up to the normal spec's of tranny fluid.
