Little update…. She starts right up and can move in and out of the shop. We still need to tune my tranny and engine some more to get everything right. Radiator, fan, and hoses are on the way and we should be able to get that all in. We gotta drop the cradle one more time to detail and paint my engine bay so everything looks nice and she’ll be nice and purdy

    TGP hood vent repair.

I found one of the hood vents on the rescued TGP was broken in a few places and decided to attempt a repair rather than scour up some. Using the Bondo flexible bumper repair kit found at any auto part stores or WalMart I was able to re attach the provisions for the bolts and where it had been cracked all the way through. Now I`m ready for paint but I went to prime it and the can went bad. I found a few small knicks in it after that I went ahead and filled so maybe a good thing. Before I get into repainting should I strip off the existing clear coat and paint on the good areas or just scuff it up with sandpaper? Or rather how would you guys that know what you`re doing fix a damaged hood vent?

For real, feel free to stick around. I mean if you can find a dedicated early H car forum by all means but given that community wasn't exactly active 15 years ago and that this one is well past its heyday feel free to stick around most of the information you'd be looking for crosses over.

No need to leave. There is a section for other cars. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't mind. There aren't many of any GM FWD's from this era left on the road.

    Reproduction Convertible Top Seals Initiative

The 1-800 on SoffSeals Linkin takes you to the RPUI call center, while friendly the reps there could not find anything out that would help us. Ive also reached out to Fairchild via email and awaiting a reply. Well I had someone on the chatbox at Steele tell me to send them pics of the parts and inquired about the material to use. But the damn site refreshed and I lost his email. If you can lay all your parts out and send them some images they might be interested.
