kuwaitliberation Posted July 22, 2007 Report Share Posted July 22, 2007 this is a problem i've run into once before, when one of the caliper bolts fell out. yes, fell out. then, not too long ago, the other bolt broke off i the bracket. now, the same bolt that broke before has broken again and ruined the caliper bracket. OK. Everyone has been looking at the pictures and not responding to the broken bolt problem. Pad wear has nothing to do with any of this. The pad wear is actually normal for a brake system with a broken caliper mounting bolt. I want to know why the bolts are breaking. I have NEVER seen a caliper bolt break off when torqued down to spec. I am trying to come up with a scenario where this would be able to happen on a regular basis, much less once. I got nothin'!
