squeaking from front passenger fender over bumps or turning

I have a 97 cutlass supreme, it has 157K miles on it. Last summer I changed the front and rear shocks, new mounts in the rear. Now, whenever i go over any kind of bumps, if the car rocks at all, or when i turn the steering wheel, I can hear squeaking coming from the front. It sorta sounds like rubber...like the noise from a creaky mattress or when you rub a balloon. Also, I have noticed twice in the last 2 weeks of driving that when making a turn, the steering wheel will jerk an inch in the direction I turn it...like something is slipping and then catching again.

what should I be checking for???
