FUCK THE AUTOMATIC IMAGE RESIZING BULLSHIT

My headlights were of the second-generation W-body plastic variety, so naturally they were seriously fucked up and hazed over. The only solution to this is to either buy new headlights, or to open them up and clean them by hand. The first option was out of the question because I have no money, and I wasn't going to do the second one without adding some little touches. So.. here's the result of roughly 4 hours of work:

Blacked-out headlights.

Very similar to mine. Put them in the oven at 180º for 5-7 minutes. Using a flat butter knife, start easing them apart at the front edge of the assembly. I also took a box cutter and went all around the light, cutting the silicone adhesive. Using a gentle, but steady pressure, ease the two pieces apart until they're both totally separated.

When putting them back together, I used clear silicone and put a nice big bead all around the backing of the light and put it back together. I drove home in one HELL of a downpour the same night and experienced no leaking or condensation.

You can see it in the bigger picture a lot better. I painted the bottom of the housing, the very tip of the "slits" between the high/low/turn sections, the cornering light fixture, and the whole outer edge.

Ahh ok. My monitor here at work sucks ass so I couldn't really tell. What type of flat paint you use? Model paint?
