intermittent ABS, E-BRAKE light wtf?

Today I when I drove home from lunch my ABS light came on (no big deal, it happens sometimes) but also my E-brake light. When I got to a stop light I pumped the ebrake a couple times, and it wasn't sticking or anything (I use it all the time BTW). So I started to drive back to work from lunch, the lights were off then all of a sudden my stereo turns off and back on (could have hit a radio button on the steering wheel while turning, but it's unlikely I could have pressed it more than once), and the ABS and Ebrake light come on all of a sudden. When I drove home from work the car was fine. WTF?

welcome to the w-body wtf factor

my sister's '94 used to just loose power all together when you were driving down the road...another time the gas gauge would just peg...and i had the ABS light come on and the pedal pulse a ton...shut it down, restarted it and it was fine

Check your main engine ground wire, your serpentine belt, and have your alt checked. Just for the hell of it, check your brake fluid level.

When my water pump went, it soaked my belt and it was slipping on the alt causing certain things to lose power (once the car stalled due to lack of voltage supply).

Let us know how that goes.

Sounds like the nut on your auxillary positive terminal is loose. Same thing happened to my Reeg one night (ABS light on, stereo and speedo going wacky) until the nut was so loose the motor finally died while I was going down the freeway. I had been getting the ABS light for a couple of weeks prior to the breakdown. After finding the culprit (the plastic cover over the aux terminal was melted) and snugging the nut down, all was well (the ABS light never came back on afterward.)

Since then, I grab my ratchet and make sure that nut is snug every time I gas up...

Yup....got locked out of my car with it running one time cause of a loose ground wire on the starter in my 93 CS.

I've tightened that damn thing up like 3 times now. I've even put the nut on a vice, and grinded off any rust that was on it. The aux terminal/fustbox thing is cracked anyways (shitty GM plastic in the engine bay  ) I need to go to the junkyard some time.

Check Your ABS Relay under the hood. I have pulled this thing a few times to kill the ABS(Which I hate with a passion) and the brake light and ABS lights both come on. I think the BRAKE light comes on to alert the driver to a "Potential" brake system problem.

My guess is the power steering fluid. When I had my '90 Cavalier, my E-Brake light came on randomly one day while I was driving. It occasionally went off and back on every so often. I said something to my dad and he mentioned my brake fluid. Turns out it was low. Topped it off and the light never came back on.

Sure enough 2 wires were loose. Tightened them up now it starts all the time, no ABS light, no stereo rebooting, and the PW always works.. lol.

With the RPE's old engine it would die when making corners and oressing the gas. It doesnt do that anymore tho. Shit like is is all part of w-body wonership.... my low fuel lights comes on and off as it pleases withj a full tank of gas.

Man I pray my car doesn't get to have any of these problems...well I guess the ABS problem is solved because I don't have ABS lol :D, and the low fuel light I guess not because I don't have of them either lol...however the guage does go up and down all the time now...even when full.
