mediabandit Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 I need to replace the rear brake lines on my '98 Lumina ls, from the drivers door back. Is it 3/16" brake line i need to pick up? They do not sell it in rolls anymore so i have to buy it separate in different lengths and connect them together. so it makes it much harder to do dammit. Quote
RobertISaar Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 i believe it's 3/8, not 3/16, but it's been a year or so since i've blown a line, so i'm not entirely sure. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 3/8" is more like fuel line. Brake lines on the car are 3/16" Quote

GOT2B GM Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 3/16 with metric bubble flare fittings Quote
Mike1998Lumina Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago Hi, replacing my sons 1998 Lumina with a little over 250,000 miles on it rear brake lines found some 25' 3/16 kits with fittings online I have a line bender and cutter and a flare kit ,, replacing rear lines this weekend hoping its 3/16 as posted. I'd get rid of it but that 3.1 just runs like a top and the trans is still smooth. I've rebuilt all four corners and a handful of other items over the years but its a former grandparent car so it was well maintained and we have done the same. This series of 3.1 3.8 V6 chevy cars was almost bullet proof I still see a ton of Luminas, Monte Carlos, Corsica's on the road and setting on driveways. Quote
