Garrett Powered
it would be a great deal: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/265-35-18-COOPER-ZEON-2XS-4-NEW-TIRES_W0QQitemZ200346768145QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2ea5991311&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A12|39%3A1|72%3A1 rated 280 AA A I know the tire wouldn't look like the calculator shows in the cut away view @ http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp when you do 245's it still looks like a balloon but on my wheel its still narrow looking. I have a feeling they would be just fine. or could I at least go with 255's? they cost a tad bit more and are rated 320 A A. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/255-35-18-FULLRUN-HP-199-4-NEW-TIRES_W0QQitemZ200355561990QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2ea61f4206&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A12|39%3A1|72%3A1171 so which tire would be rated better? the first one right? GnatGoSplat
The first tire would probably look better, but check manufacturer specs. 265/35's need a minimum 9" rim. 255/35's need a minimum 8.5" rim. I've heard of people going a little below manufacturer's minimum rim width and not having any problems, but it's probably not a smart thing to do. AWeb80
245/40/18's would be nice.
GOT2B GM
ditto 245-40-18 is what I run with no problems
jeremy
245/45/18 is the proper upsize for w-bodies
GnatGoSplat
245/45/18 is the proper upsize for w-bodies It depends. 245/40R18 is the proper upsize for W-bodies that had 245/50R16's (TGP's and some earlier B4U GP's). 245/45R18 is closest for those that had 225/60R16's. The 245/45's on my Cutlass look kind of big in diameter for the size of car (gen 1 W's are smaller/shorter than gen 2's). It's just 1" difference in diameter anyway. oldscsc
Interesting. The Magnum wheels I was looking at are actually 18's, and on a friend's car are 225/60/18. Same as mine except they are 18's!
AWeb80
40 series looks better IMHO

Same as mine except they are 18's! Yeah, the new Dodges have huge diameter wheels that sit high up in the body. That's why you can use 22" on them without looking ridiculous like those lifted ghetto "donk" mobiles.
Garrett Powered
this is the 245 45 18s next to 245 50 16's. that's why I was thinking it would be just fine to go with 255 35 18's. and in my experience, lower profile tires seem to be skinnier so I thought I could get away with running 255's. I still got lots of time to decide.
GnatGoSplat
Weight of the car will shorten the tire height-wise maybe 1/2" or more. 245/40R18 is a perfect diameter match for 245/50R16. 255/35R18 is actually shorter, 255/40R18 would be closer. Its diameter is between 245/40R18 and 245/45R18 (closer to the former).
