I'm trying to get some Info on what top end and valvetrain options are available for my TGP and the advantages/disadvantages of each. I'll be rebuilding the motor when I do this and would like to make some extra power. I've got a general idea of what I think I want to do, but I want to hear your input first.

 

Heads?

 

Intake?

 

Lifters?

 

Rocker Arms?

 

Cam?

 

Valve Springs?

i may be wrong. but i always thought that new 3.9 motor would be a good drop in. they are like 230hp or so N/A.

so throw a little boost at it i would think you could get over 300hp. you would also have to find some one to tune it.

IMHO I'd put a mild cam in it or some 1.6 roller rockers and upgrade the turbo and get a custom tune. The car should easily run deep 13's/high 12's then and you will be much happier with it....just my $.02.

thats what I was thinking, but I was also thinking about doing the topend swap but I'm unsure what topend to use. I also plan to swap to OBD 2 so I can use a 4t65-e or HD transmission and use the same tuning software I'm going to buy for my GTP.
