3.1 problem VERT DOWN. engine carnage.. Compression checked!

BACK IN... WHITE!!!!!! (the car is white)

 

I replaced both the valve springs on number 4, and while they were out, I spun the valves so they would rub the seat. compared to a couple used valve springs I had laying around, these had lost a little or their tensile strength, and were about 1mm shorter.

 

 

I only redid the compression test for 2, 4, and 6

 

Here's what I got:

 

2 165

4 165

6 182

 

SWEET!!!!!!!!! only 1 is lower than 165!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

SHE IS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and a final update.

 

One hell of a first return to service drive... Michigan and back... with no problems!!!!! SWEET!!!!

 

perhaps I should rename her....

She is no longer to be known as busted.. she is now known as... (a little help here please, anyone???)

i gotta hand it to you ken you are one of the few people i know that uses nylon string, and a drill to do a valve job. most certinally one of the smoother running 3.1s i've seen in awhile!
