slick Posted November 18, 2007 Report Share Posted November 18, 2007 Most aftermarket decks range between 17-22 watts RMS. Decks rated at 28-35 watts RMS require a 10 guage amp kit. I haven't seen an aftermarket deck in AGES (well, besides for the crappy autoparts store radio's) thats less than 15 watts RMS. Most OEM decks are in the 5-7 watt RMS range. synistershadows Posted November 22, 2007 Report Share Posted November 22, 2007 mine sounded decent enough but after i put in my aftermarket deck they just kept getting distorted and topping out without the factory amp now the new kappa's i put in have good bass lil more than the stock ones did and dont max out with my new HU but i want just a lil more bass outa them would it be posible to wire up the factory amp to my new HU and wire it to the Kappa's and would it give me more bass than im getting now with just HU or should i just remove the factory amp and go get the 200watt MTX and put that in?
