Speed Density w/ MAF & Computer Q's

I noticed today that there is a white sitcker on my 88 Cutlass that says "Updated with Speed Denisty Software" (Or something like that). I thought that speed density was used when a MAF sensor was NOT installed. However, I do have a MAF sensor on this car.

Another question is that I was reading about EPROM programming, and was wondering about the HFM (Highway Fuel Mode) that is coded into the EPROM. Is it worth it to enable it for the fuel milage? Or is it a PITA? I used to do EPROM programming for pinball machines, and replacement BIOS chips for PC's, so I still have my EEPROM/EPROM burner here somewhere!!

Apparently with the older cars that had a MAF, you will want to use the speed density. It's a much better design than the older GM MAF sensors. As for the MAF still being there, I think thats because the ECM still uses the air intake temp sensor that is built into the MAF sensor.
