Euro
Took the car in to get new lower balljoints today, and Im very pleased on how much firmer it handles/rides up front. No more clunking over bumpy roads!! and i feel safer now since i dont have to worry about them breaking on me!! Although the downside is the brake/suspension type shop(Merlins) found a seized front caliper....so its going back on tuesday!! I knew something was f'ed up with the brakes, figured it was the caliper after the new front brakes, im ready for the trek to MI in July!!(cant believe its just over 1 month away!!) slick
I got a new passenger ball joint in today. The driver side was being a bitch and wouldn't come out at all, even with heat applied to it!
THe_DeTAiL3R
I've replaced 2- one on my 88 and one on the car I have now. Both had bolts on them (not rivots) so I'm assuming they were changed before. They're still a bitch to get out. The easiest way is to stick something like a chisel from underneigth, and pound down on the control arm (that's what it's called, right?) with a hammer. I broke my cheap balljoint remover trying to pull the balljoint up.

I broke my cheap balljoint remover trying to pull the balljoint up. MY dad's friend uses a huge 8 foot breaker/pry bar to get underneath and pop it out.. Although this didn't work one time (In refernence to my buddies crapiler) and his dad just beat the shit out of the control arm with a huge mechanics hammer lol.. He had a balljoint removal tool, but didn't want to use it because he said it would punch a hole into the CV boot...I dunno
