    Welding coolant pipes.

    One doesn't want to cut the end of the pipe off seeing as there is a barb under that crimped collar that the hose is pushed over and grips, better off to cut off the crimped collar, reposition the 3.1 hose end & use a hose clamp to fix the two together. Or, if you're lucky enough to be close to a shop that builds custom A/C lines take your project to them & have a replacement collar crimped onto your *new* hose/pipe assembly.
