there is a three wire plug thats hanging below my airbox on my 3.4L DOHC grand prix, the actual connector has broken off, but i can tell the three wires all go together, i cannot figure out where they plug in, but i have found that if two of the wires accidently tough, the car will only start for 1-2 seconds then die, Im hoping that someone has a clue as to where it goes.

anyone???!?? do i need to take a picture?

could plug into your ignition control module or your iac. those are the only 3 prong connectors i can think of around that area.

If I remember correctly.......

IAT (intake air temp) is two wires.....sensor that sits in the airbox.

TPS (throttle position) is three.......bolts on the opposite side of the TB where the cables attach.

IAC (idle air control) is three or four.....attaches either above or below the TPS on the TB.

EGR (exhaust gas recirculator) is four or five.......attaches on the top of the EGR directly behind the TB.

Those are the main ones.........I'd look for IAC to be unplugged.......that would make the most sense for the conditions you are describing.

He is talking underneath the air box i believe. those are all up on top of the manifold.

Well, the harness is long enough to reach their.................and what else is there that could effect the motor?

Engine coolant temp is near there....but thats only two wires, and wouldn't have quite the effect as whats going on here.

Directly below the airbox? Sounds like your A/C pressure sensor lead. If your 5v signal reference wire and the ECM ground wire touch, it will cut the car off, I did it jumping the wrong wires while trying to create a false pressure signal. Are the wires blue, grey, and black?

ill check them out tomorrow manny, but that sounds about right, from the main harness, these wires have about 12" of room to move around, so its possible for them to plug into something in a fairly large area, Where is the plug in for the pressure switch?

Your A/C pressure sensor should be just below and to the right of where your airbox mounts to the metal plate that it sits on. The pressure sensor screws directly into the high pressure A/C line. Just follow the tubes from the accumulator. (I'd take pics, but I don't have a digital camera yet  )

thanks a ton manny, that was where they went, Now do you know which way the wires go into the switch, basically i need to know which one goes ontop, and which wires go on the right and left of the bottom, this way i can put them back into he plug properly...... the dealer cant get the plug, its a junkyard item i guess.

Ill pull my airbox off tonight and let you know for sure... but when you go to the J/Y just cut off 3 or 4" of wire along with the plug and you can't go wrong... 8)
