Can Rims be welded

I hit the worst pothole you can imagine, now there is a crack from the outside of the rim all the way thru about 1 inch long. The problem is that about 1/4 of the crack is where the bead seals so now there is a slow leak.

 

Love my rims and they don't make them anymore, please tell me they can be fixed.

What are they made out of? Theres one rim one my TGP that was welded. It's even still bent a little. That's the only rim that has never leaked any air on me.

they can be..... but if you hit a pot hole hard enoughf to crack it, its going to be bent as hell....... I would just look for a new one

Funny thing is the rim isn't bent it just sent a crack right up the side.

It can definitely be repaired. It'll be expensive, but cheaper than a new wheel. Here's an example of a place that does such repairs:

have you spun it on a balancer where you can watch it? I dont mean to doubt you but before you dump money into fixing it you want to make sure that it doesnt have any hopps or flat spots.... have the tire dismounted, then bring it to a local welding shop that cant weld a alum (if they have a tig welder, ask if they will weld it with that because its much stronger), They will do the best job because thats all those people do...... and its local....
