Speaker Baffles?

Just finished relocating my speakers from my dash to the door panels. I have 6.5" Kenwood KFC-1662s 3-way speakers. I put baffles in behind the speakers. Is there any right and wrong way to put baffles on? Are the baffles suppose to attach snugly against your speakers, or does there need to be a gap between speaker and the baffle?

Well 16 views and still no one has a clue? I guess I'll just make a trip down to the audio specialist place and ask them.

What kind of baffles are you using?

Snugly is right. You'll want the best seal possible between the driver and the door panel you're mounting it to, and you'll want it mounted securely. A bit of sound dampening on the door panels wouldn't hurt.

I have already installed sound dampening on the driver and passenger side doors. It's not the name brand or expensive material either. My friend had some he gave to me that he used to insulate his windows with for the winter. I bought 6.5" XTC baffles from Crutchfield. How am I suspose to fit them snugly? Do I glue them to the door panel over the speaker somehow?

Ill have to look at those when I get home since its a bit slow on my phone, but I would have just made some mdf rings. I would use machine screws to secure them to the door panel and some silicone sealant to seal the baffles.
