DRLs Got Me Real Confused

Recommended Posts

The right DRL on my 97 Regal does not operate and neither does the accompanying front turn signal. However, the bulb/light will work with the parking lights or headlights on.

I have changed all but one of the related fuses and it still does not work. Any ideas??!!??!?!

Well the DRL feature itself could just be unplugged (very common since many people don't like the DRL feature), but that unfortunately doesn't explain the lack of turn signal. Are you saying it doesn't flash at all when you use the turn signal stalk?

Take the little rubber caps off of the lamp and look in there. I guarantee you'll find some melted wires.

Are you saying the signal DOES work with the parking lights on?

Or are you saying it doesn't work as a signal or DRL, but the parking lights work?

If the latter, that's normal for a burned out bulb. It's a 2-filament bulb, high and low. If the high is burned out, the signal and DRL won't work, but the parking light will.
