CSI_MuNkY Posted August 22, 2006 Report Share Posted August 22, 2006 Hey, I got my car back Saturday morning after 2 months of being off the road for a blown head gasket and another 2 weeks of sitting at the shop waiting for work to get done. The old gasket is BLOWN... 5 of the 6 cylinders the head gaskets were being fired on, 1 of those 5 had been fired on so much that it failed, the crack is wide enough to fit my pinky finger in! The mechanic says my timing was off before, although I never noticed any difference in the way it drives. I also had a 180 t-stat installed, wow does it make a difference! Its running about 50% cooler on the highways!! I'm only having ONE problem with it (see the powertrain forum for that) Now I just have to hope it passes emissions testing next on thursday!
