Exhaust advice...

OK, my dad and I are having a little disagreement on this one.

I have a 94 Olds Cutlass Supreme with the 3100, open airbox and K&N air filter, with a Thrush Turbo muffler.

It sounds really nice, but only between 1300-2200 RPM, then the noise basically disappears (from what I can tell). I would like to make it a little louder and deeper, so here's the dilemma:

Should I cut the resonator out and just put a straight pipe in place of it

OR

put a Thrush glass pack in place of it? My dad says that it would be louder w/ the glasspack, but I said it would be louder with just a straight pipe.

If he's right, would it be worth it if it made a deeper sound?

(This all got started cuz my dad has an '01 Deville DTS with Dynomax Super Turbos and a Thrush glasspack in place of the resonator and it sounds REALLY nice!)

Opinions?
