TNT Posted July 27, 2004 Report Share Posted July 27, 2004 got a 1990 cutlass with the 3.1, its missing, new plugs and wires and still is missing, cant figure it out, wondering if the coil packs can get weak or do they just quit working alltogether? i messed with it and got it to where it would idle on all 6 but when you give it gas it kicks back to only 5, now its mssing at idle again also, any ideas guys? thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dan94Z34 Posted July 27, 2004 Report Share Posted July 27, 2004 If one of the coil packs went bad, then you would have 2 cylindars missing. Under the hood there should be a picture to show which coil fire what to cylindars. Then take a timing light and see what ones are missing. If two are missing, and corraspond to a coil.
