cryptnix Posted April 16, 2004 Report Share Posted April 16, 2004 Whenever in the morning I start the car, or the car has been sitting for a long time and I start it... I get this ticking sound, it used to be like a tick pause tick in like 1 sec intervals... someone said lifters... I was like ok, thats easy... but now its like tick tick tick tick tick tick ... I can't really explain it but ... should I try a couple courts of oil that it requirse and toss a heavier weighted one in as well, to see if it helps? Would you also suggest getting the engine flushed? I need some ideas ... I'm no experienced mech here, but your guys help would be HIGHLY appreciated!! Again, thanks... I can't remember 100%, but I think it has something to do with a collapsed piston skirt. I dunno, maybe someone else will back me up on this.
