One of the great things is that they have their parts database online. It's very large, so I wouldn't recommend trying to access it through dial-up. They show AC Delco part number 10240134 for your 88 Cutlass International. According to the picture, (http://www.rockauto.com/ref/ACDelco/Detail.html?10240134.jpg) there is only one wire to this sender for the gauge.
