Fuel Gauge Woes - 92 Convertible

I've read a few posts about fuel gauges reading "Full" all the time - I know the theory of how to check the resistance, float could be stuck, etc... What I'm looking for is someone's experience with these cars - is there a typical cause that is associated with these?

Any insight would be appreciated -

for the guage to read full, there must be at least 90 ohms of resistance between the guage and the level sender and back to the guage. so, an open wire anywhere in that loop will cause that to happen. open wires are also not fun to try and locate either, i've seen a lot of people just run an all new length of wire rather than test/replace only what is needed.
