I'm upgrading my shocks today..front and rear

I was told by a mechanic that I should remove the existing oil in the front outer asymblies and I dont know how much to put back in..he says like 1.5 ounces

and what type of oil should I use ?

The rear he says I need a bolt to compress the helper spring..but I dont know how long or what size..my google seach gave me nothing..

Thanks

High over here;)

the fronts, I've done anything from drain it all out, which is a pain in the ass, to put the new strut in and clean up the mess it makes. Never noticed any performance difference either way.

most new rear struts come with a bolt to compress that goofy helper spring.
