I undercoated the underside today. Then realized I didn't do those stupid frame rails under the rocker panel. So I took my time and did those up right. Hasn't caused me any problems. There is undercoating, and then there is rustproofing. The undercoating helps protect you from seeing any of the rust that is taking place. If you don't plan on driving it in the winter, and the car remains dry for the most part, then it shouldn't really cause any serious issues. If you do plan on driving it in the winter though...well then I would have done rustproofing instead, which is an oily type coating that you generally apply seasonally to keep the moisture away from the metal. That rubberized stuff can allow moisture to get trapped between the coating and the metal and can actually accelerate the rusting. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

94 olds vert Posted December 1, 2009 Author Report Share Posted December 1, 2009 Started to sand my valve covers, I tried to get the majority of the paint off today, tomorrow i will start to get into the harder to reach stops and really start detailing it up nice. For the center, I was thinking of painting it a color, color is still undecided so chime on that. I was thinking white you think that would look good?
