once I have the GP, i think first thing once it gets warm, I'm gonna buy a good HO alt, have at it on the cutty, and sell off the current one (after swapping for a new one, the lifetime warranty, of course)

i just read back through the replies to this topic and read the chiltons repair book and saw the 4ft extentsion way of removing the rear bolt from the alt from drivers side wheel well. how do u kno where to put it through and which bolt it is?

never done it that way, so i woulden't know, but seriously its not that awful just reach behind it, its a tight fit so it is a help to have small hands.

All this work for a damn alternator?

 

You have my sincerest sympathies.

 

My alternator was $80 with a lifetime warranty and took me 15 minutes to replace, which includes the time it took to get my tools out and put them back in the toolbox.
