Ok the batterys charged and is brand new. The volt gauge shows 13 volts. But the car will not even try and turn over. Could it be the starter? The battery kicked the bucket last night luckly when I was in the advanced auto so I just had to buy one and put it in. Went to the car today and it will not start. So I think maybe I didn't put the cables on tight enough or the alternater is shot. So I charge the battery and it still will not start? Little help!

Do a voltage drop test on your positive cable from the battery to the starter. Make sure you do not have internal corrosion in the cable that is causing a voltage drop. Viltage difference should be less than .3 to .5 volts.
