PCGUY112887 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Share Posted October 21, 2006 I was wanting to get some purdy red MSD wires on my car and was hoping to find some direct-fit ones for my 96 3100, but wasn't able to. However... if I look up a 96 Grand Am with the 3100, MSD has a direct fit set. Woulden't these be the exact same things and should work fine? Guest TurboSedan Posted October 21, 2006 Report Share Posted October 21, 2006 i'd get Magnecor KV-85 wires (8.5mm) VERY high quality and they do make a set for the 3100. i have them on my Turbo Cutlass and my GTS Turbo and i love them. perfect fit. check http://www.ultrarev.com - they also have an ebay store. They have "409" wires as well, which are 10.4mm, looks fairly crazy but from the description it sounds like just their 8mm wires wrapped in 2.4mm of heat resistant fiberglass and such. Doubt that's worth more than $60 for me. Should work fine for a GP even though their marked as 96 V6 Grand Am right? Also has anyone ever got any gains from MSD coils?
