roomylumy
I had a rust spot on my fender, and I repaired it. I got the paint made and put in a spray can. It matches good, but of course it is not polished. Especially where I faded it in to the old paint. Anyone have any ideas on how to buff up this paint job. I also haven't clearcoated it yet, but the edge of the clearcoat will need to be buffed up also. Any experiences or help would be appreciated. If anyone can tell me how to do it, I can post a pic of the area in question.
THe_DeTAiL3R
First you will need to put on the clearcoat... try and overlap it with the old clearcoat to blend it in.. Wetsand the entire panel to remove orange peel/runs in paint, use rubbing compound, polish, wax etc. recap: -blend in clearcoat -wetsand (1500grit) -rubbing compound -swirl mark remover/polishing compound then wax... For what it's worth, I had my quarter panel done for $85 (fixed dent and painted) see my thread "OMG the DENT!!"
brianhasadd
When you polish it, I HIGHLY recommend using Mother's wax!!!!!!

THe_DeTAiL3R
When you polish it, I HIGHLY recommend using Mother's wax!!!!!! polish != wax what? polish and wax are 2 different things... I mean, you can't "wax" out swirl marks, but you can polish them out. (I guess on a white car you can skip some steps though )
