A lo quad, with a 3 speed and 2.84 final drive would struggle to beat a 4 speed 3.1 with a 3.33 final drive. Tey're good motors, but not THAT good. Also good luck testing it anyway, the lo quad cutlasses are almost nonexistently rare.

    5

I'll bet they got the 3.61....every other early 90s GM 5 speed did, other than LQ1s, which had 3.67.

Who knows what 1-5 was....they changed every year, other than in 92-94.

Yeah, but if your talking about engine vs. engine, the quad 4 wins. Obviously with a much worse drivetrain the quad loses any advantage it might have.

A few cutlass's actually for dead certainty. I know my 92 sedan had the option of a 3400, it was just rare

You are mistaken for the 3.4 DOHC. The 3400 was offered in the 2nd gen Impala's and Monte's.

I personally think a S* can take a 3800II, and would like to see the race.

Doing a quick check on MSN:

'98 Intrigue: 195hp/230 Tq (3.8 II)

0-60: 8.13

1/4: 16.29 @ 87.50

'99 Intrigue: 215hp/230 tq S*

0-60: 6.99

1/4: 15.41 @ 93.00

Thanks, looks as if I was right 8)

Also, the Intrigue has a faster 0-60 than the 3.4l DOHC, and arguably a faster 1/4mi.

Don't forget it's maybe a bit heavier than a Lumi too..

ok, i have NEVER seen a 2.2 in a w, ever, name one person on this board with one, or a pic of a lumina or what ever with that motor in it, it wasnt a w-body motor, the only 4bangers in w's were the 2.5 and 2.3, thats it

http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31175

EDIT:ok thats insane, kbb says only the 93 had the 2.2, why tho, thats crazyness, iv never in my life seen, or even herd of be4 now of a lumina w/ the 2.2

i got my chime module out of a 93 with a 2.2

It is probably really close, maybe a little heavier, but I wouldn't think by much.
