Bake82 Posted April 19, 2005 Report Share Posted April 19, 2005 hey guys, My 88 2.8 with a MAF has developed a pretty bad miss. It will only miss when I am going a constant speed or slowing down. If I'm hard on the accelerator it does not miss. It stalled on me last night 4 times and all the times I was going under 20mph. On the highway with the cruise on at 70 it will miss every few minutes. ursus Posted April 20, 2005 Report Share Posted April 20, 2005 The updated Memcal chip is also from GM dealers for $100 cdn, get the parts guy to call GM for the part # they are available but not listed in the microfiche/pudr , you don't need to update the air box, vss or anything else just swap the chip, it still uses the temp sensor inside the old MAF so you just leave it in place, MAF sensors are $400 from the dealer and $200 aftermkt, so the chip is a good fix if you have a bad MAF.
