Shouldn't take a whole weekend. Inners and outers are easy to install, but the inners needs a special tool that costs something like $30 (a GIANT socket). You also need a new boot clamp because the clamp needs to be cut. Oh yeah, for best results, you should also stake the new inner tierod. The service manual says to use a punch to do it, but there's no way I could see to do that without taking the rack out, so I bought a $75 tool that does a perfect crimp one-handed.

I figured it was worth it, I would have paid >$100 in labor and at least this way I have some tools I can keep for my other W's.
