    Good replacement pillar door handles?

What you can do to extend the life of any of them is only use the handle to unlatch the door, then grab the door elsewhere to pull it open. I normally grab the top of the door frame at the top corner to pull the door open. If you only use the handle like I've seen plenty of people do to fully open the door, then you're going to eventually break them no matter if it's a factory handle or an aftermarket replacement. Let your passengers know how to open the door properly as well!

  2. My first thought is seeing as you've been into a shop to have this rectified what got in the way of that shop NOT solving the problem? If you've paid out money for their time & diagnoses why is the car not trouble free?

    L82 upgrade options

For an easy no fuss swap, dump the L82 & pick up a healthy mid 2000's LA1 engine. There is a noticeable difference in the two engine's output. An aftermarket or reground cam will wake up the engine even moreso. Porting & polishing both the heads & the intake assembly adds to the performance. The L82's were stricken with the small dia exhaust, all LA1 engines were 2 1/2" at the downpipe.
