alanbshort Posted May 5, 2004 Report Share Posted May 5, 2004 how would i go about taking my ac compressor out. it needs to be recharged and i dont want to spend the $$ on it. So i might take it out to free up some power. also after i take it out does anybody know what size belt i will need? DaveFromColorado Posted May 5, 2004 Report Share Posted May 5, 2004 when the A/C compressor clutch is not energized it will "Free wheel" and not draw any power from the engine. removing the A/C compressor will effect your waterpump, as the belt will no longer contact it properly, so you're best just leaving it in. --Dave Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
