1stgenbird
Anyone know what the correct oil capacity is for this engine. The owners manual states 5 quarts with or without filter. When I do an oil change and put 5 quarts in the dipstick reads at least 1.5 quarts low. The owners manual states do not overfill. When I drive it the low oill indicator lights. So do I stay with 5 quarts or put in 6.5 quarts to bring it up to the full mark on the stick?
Jasonz34
5 quarts + 1 for the filter It should be at least 5 quarts and another .5 to 1 quart. If your check oil light is on I hope its faulty because that means it's too low to drive. You have to be losing oil, fill it to the full mark after the engine hasn't been driven for some time. Justin
I used 5.5 in my 91 GP, the Z leaks so damn much it's on the "constant cycling" oil change.
