pitzel Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 What does GM call this part? Yes, where all the rust is right by the wheel, but not the rocker panel. Body shop 'slang' seems to call it a 'dog leg', but I haven't been able to find reference to such in the sheet metal parts lists. For some reason, Chapter 11 in my 1992 Cutlass Supreme manual only has sheet metal diagrams for the Convertible. Quote
pitzel Posted July 3, 2015 Author Report Posted July 3, 2015 rust Yeah . Went out and looked at it, it seems that the section is actually part of the unibody. Don't know how well filler would do in that section, but I can get replacement rockers. Other than replicating the same on the other side (but far less severe) that's basically the totality of the rust on the vehicle. Quote
sttubs Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Right behind your wheel, I think that is part of the entire front quarter panel. Quote
Heartbeat1991 Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 It looks like a simple enough area to fix with some sheet metal. Quote
cdn_olds_94 Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 The parts are called the Dog leg and the Rocker cover. Both as you can see, are very prone to rust. Quote
