White93z34 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Share Posted April 27, 2011 There are always the factory cd decks, but they are broken 99.7% of the time. the 95+ chevy delco decks more or less plug right in, they need a few wires changed around so the back-lighting works but thats is. 3pt1lumina Posted April 27, 2011 Report Share Posted April 27, 2011 Yup added a 1.5 Gen CD player into my 90 and it worked great, only had to splice 2 wires to make the lights work. Best thing I've ever done to my car. If you search the thread is on here, did it back in 05. When I have more time while I'm not at work I'll search for it. Crazy K Posted April 28, 2011 Report Share Posted April 28, 2011 i have done the same, installing a CD player 95+ radio into a 92 lumina. IIRC I had to move a single wire to make the radio illuminate, but it might have been two. Also, the 95+ radio is deeper, I had to lengthen the wires from the HVAC unit as they blocked the rear of the radio, I accomplished that by cutting the pigtail off of a j/y unit and splicing it to add about 4 to 6 inches of length to the car's HVAC unit.
