93 Grand Prix Posted October 21, 2002 Report Share Posted October 21, 2002 I have tried Febreze, and all types of aiur fresheners. I can't find anything that doesn't stink or make me sneeze. How can I get that new car smell back? Can I buy it? Is it a smell that just goes away after a while? Where does the factory get it from? GnatGoSplat Posted October 21, 2002 Report Share Posted October 21, 2002 'New Car Smell" is actually the smell of adhesives, paints, and chemicals in production. It's not really a very healthy smell. However, I had the rear window in my truck replaced. After I had it done, it had that new car smell again! You could always use some of those new car smell sprays, or you could just open up a tube of urethane adhesive in your car for an authentic new car smell.
