ZacksZ34 Posted August 15, 2008 Report Share Posted August 15, 2008 okay i got and estimate on gettin my windows tinted and cant decide how dark i should go i wanna go with 20% but it would almost be to dark but i dont really care for 35%. Sometimes cops will be dicks anyway, but never had a problem. Then again I dont drive like an asshole. Also as far as ventvisors I think some dude with a white Z had a set on his here. But its awesome in the summer! I've never got pulled over for it. 5% all around. Even got my sunroof done. Didnt do the windshield. Thats what I have on my Ranger. 5% on the rear window and 20% on the sides. It isn't as dark as I thought it would be and I love it! Get at least 20% if you decide to get tint. Most trucks don't get bothered. Most cars do. And it's going to "look" darker because of the black car. I just don't want to see you spend good money on it only to have to tear it off, thats all. He doesn't want you to go overboard with the mods to the Z34, because in 3 years you're going to need a new(er) car, and he wants it too be a cool car and relatively debt free. 20-30% sides, 15% back, don't go stupid dark - it's just going to cost you later on. The red car is done 25% on the sides, maybe 30%, to me it has the "look." I have the sedan done a little darker, the coupe is tan interior which is pretty bright to start with, your red should be dark enough to work with the tint. She has never been pulled over for it in 5-6 years and it IS illegal in my area to have below 35% on front sides. She has been pulled over before for other reasons (speeding, broken turn signal switch), and the cops never even mentioned the tint. 20% is about how dark factory tint is on pickups, minivans, and SUVs that got factory tint, btw. You can still see through it at certain angles, especially when the window directly across is untinted. Yeah, it'll look legal if you get 5% back 3 and 20% front sides, although the mismatch in tint darkness kind of stands out, so in a way I like them all uniform.
