After a couple days of tinkerin I've come to the conclusion that this deck is frickin amazing! The improvemet in clarity is significant. And the 16 band eq means that there are no frequencies that get left out anymore. I was parked next to a co worker today with my windows up playin some good old CCR at a respectably high volume at 8 in the morning. And he claimed that my highs were resonating his door panels..lol

This deck actually makes me want to go and buy CD's. As that is where it truelly shines.

After reading this, I think im going to have to meet up with you and hear it for myself sometime  And maybe try it out with the Eagles, cause i have not heard a CCR song with better SQ than an Eagles song.

I love pioneers... I was debating getting one of the ones like yours with the single rotary knob/joystick, but decided it would be too complicated. My uncle has a bmw with iDrive, which is the most rediculously complicated waste of technology ever. I figured the pioneer's controls were too similar and would drive me crazy, so I went with the lower-end DEH-P6700MP instead. I love it, and the controls are so much more intuitive. Plus it'll work with all the same Pioneer IP goodies.

I think I am taking this Pioneer back to the store. I cant stand its mp3 controls. I cant even use the bloody random feature on a mp3 disc without having to listen to every track. If I am on lets say track 4, and dont want to listen to it, I push the multi controll to the right, but then it just goes to track 5 instead of the next random track. If I let track 4 play right through to the end, then it goes to the next random track! It's frickin rediculous!

If I had mp3's I could play, Id mess around with my settings, because last time I remembered mine did that random play thing. Does this happen on cd's as well or just mp3's?

For me its a big deal. If I pay that much for a head unit it better be flawless.

I paid $570 for my HU that normally cost $1200 new and it's nowhere near flawless.
