chadz34
After I painted my cam cover and I had the plenum off, I have been hearing a whisting from under the hood, doesn't always happen, but it is quite loud. IS this an intake leak? I bought a new PCV valve too, I'm gonna put that on tomorrow.

slick
Check your alternator. Yep, I'd check that first. Since it is whistling, is there any performance difference?

Rocketman
I had the exact same thing when I finished my head gaskets - turned out my throttle body gasket was shot. I put a new gasket on and it fixed it.
chadz34
Check your alternator. Yep, I'd check that first. Since it is whistling, is there any performance difference? It's a little less powerful. Now, it isn't always making that noise. For example, it was fine today, but yesterday it whistled. Could it be something to do with the cam cover I had off to paint and the plenum? I hope to FUCK it is not the alternator.
CowboyBilly9Mile
One way that I've found to locate difficult to pinpoint whistling noises is to use a piece of hose (3/8" ID or so) like a stethoscope. Put an ear plug in your other ear if needed to decrease other distracting noises.
